Migration from Key-Based to ID-Based Licensing
Since September 2023, licensing in SmartBear has migrated fully to ID-based licensing. The below guidance was designed to help you prepare for this. Use as a reference for troubleshooting.

We have strict licensing policies, and we need to work in private networks where users cannot access the internet.

Under ID-based licensing, SmartBear licenses are controlled by SmartBear License Servers available online. Products connect to these servers over the Internet through License Management to check if a license is available or not. If you are working in a private network, these license servers may not be available. To use our products in these networks, SmartBear offers a special license type – offline. Your license administrator can convert your Fixed or Floating license to an offline one and activate this license on the computer where your product is installed or on the On-Premises License Server in your network. |
