Usage Statistics
License usage reporting
License Administrators can view statistics on the assignment and revocation of SmartBear licenses in their organization. Click the View Report button.
The table and chart view for the selected license appears.
Tables
The Table view provides key data on the usage of that license.
Check-In - Indicates that a license is currently being used by a specific user, having been acquired from the license server by the product.
Check Out - Indicates that a license has been released and returned to the license server.
Rejected - Indicates that a user or product attempted to acquire a license from the license server, but no licenses were available then. If a user attempts to purchase a license multiple times, then the user is counted only once, regardless of the number of rejections.
Charts
The Chart view provides a detailed overview of license usage over the last month. The blue column displays the highest number of seats consumed during that day. The red column shows the total number of requests for rejected license seats on a particular day due to the limit for that license being reached.
Exporting usage statistics
To export usage statistics, follow these steps:
Navigate to the License Management dashboard.
Select the Event Logs tab to view the concurrent license consumption data.
Click the Download CSV button to export the usage statistics.
This will generate a CSV file containing detailed usage statistics for the selected licenses over the last 30 days. The CSV file provides details such as timestamps, product type, user, host system, and seat availability.
Name
Description
Date
Displays the exact time a license was locked or unlocked. This helps track when the license was used or released.
Product Name
Displays the product name and associated modules for which the licenses are assigned.
User email
Email address of the user who triggered the event.
Host Name
The name of the machine or host from which the license was originated.
IP address
IP address of On-Premise licenser server
Event
Following are the license events:
LICENSE_UNLOCKED (Check-In) indicates that the product has acquired a license from the license server and is currently being used by a specific user.
LICENSE_LOCKED (Check Out) - Indicates that a license has been released and returned to the license server.
Seats
Number of licenses or seats available.
Total Seats
Total number of licenses available for the product.
Note
License events are recorded with a UTC timestamp. The SLM UI shows Event Logs timestamps in local time. In the CSV file and License Consumption graph, UTC time is displayed. Reports (CSV) and graphs are generated using the default UTC timestamp, and these details cannot be modified.
