SmartBear Administration Release Notes - September 2026

This release includes new features and improvements to enhance your SmartBear ID, Admin, License Management, Organization, and Subscription experience.

Features

The following are the new enhancements and features for the current release:

System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM)

System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) supports automatic synchronization of user data with Okta user directories and other SCIM-enabled providers. SmartBear Admin lets you enable or disable SCIM provisioning. SCIM handles the lifecycle of user and group accounts in your organization, including adding users, syncing profile data, removing users, and synchronizing group membership. When you configure SCIM groups, users are automatically provisioned or deprovisioned based on their group membership in your identity provider.

Modular subscription plan enhancements

Depending on your plan, you may see an option for an Editor or Viewer Seat Type. The Seat Type determines what roles and permissions you can grant to an organization member in the appropriate products. Assign Editor seat types and select specific Swagger products for editing access. All Swagger products receive Viewer access by default, and when you designate an Editor seat for a product, all other Swagger products automatically provide Viewer access only.

New Enhancements

The following are the new enhancements for the current release:

  • Improved checkout experience with regional currency and billing routing confirmation. Users can now confirm their shipping country before reaching the pricing page, ensuring they view the correct currency and are routed to the appropriate regional billing entity from the start. The confirmed country is locked for the session and cannot be changed.

  • Non-admin users in SLM on-prem can now view session details, including username and machine/host name, when "Access for Everyone" mode is enabled. Administrators can independently control visibility of session user details and the ability for non-admin users to disconnect sessions through a new configuration toggle button in the admin panel.

  • Purchased add-ons are now visible on the Subscription tab for direct sales accounts, giving you a complete view of your subscription plan and active add-ons in one location.

  • You can now configure multiple identity provider connections for Portal External users. When multiple connections are active, connection details are managed through SmartBear Support to ensure security and consistency.

  • The admin API now includes support for multiple identity provider connections configured for Portal External users.

  • Invitations now display their send status, and you can resend them directly from the user management interface without repeating the full invite process.

  • Enhanced MFA authentication flow reduces steps by automatically transitioning you to your profile after verification, providing a seamless login experience.

  • Content Security Policy (CSP) headers have been added to the Software License Management interface.

Bug Fixes

Here is a summary of the key bug fixes implemented in the current release:

  • Fixed button state display when switching editors with unavailable seats, allowing proper subscription assignment and unassignment actions.

  • Fixed the On-Premise License Server API to report accurate license consumption. Usage data now matches what displays in the License Manager UI.

  • Fixed the issue of duplicate product branding on the "Complete your profile" page during trial signup.

  • Fixed Access Key and Client Credentials options in on-premise SLM when configured with "Access for Everyone" authentication.

  • Invite users option is now disabled in the UI when "Access for Everyone" authentication is active, eliminating confusing permission errors.

  • Fixed the issue, and users are now automatically redirected to their destination after successful login.

  • Fixed SAML connections to properly populate the email field for Portal External users.

  • Fixed an issue that allowed creating multiple active subscriptions for the same organization using browser navigation.

  • Fixed template string interpolation in system emails to show correct URLs and organization identifiers.

  • Enhanced error handling when inviting users with case-variant duplicate email addresses.
