Migration Checklist

This checklist outlines key steps to help you prepare for the transition from Zephyr Enterprise to QMetry.

Prepare for Migration

Update User email Addresses in Zephyr Enterprise.

Ensure each user has a valid email address. QMetry requires a valid email address to create a user account and to send notifications when users are tagged, added as watchers, or included in email updates.

Provide Super Admin User Details

Glossary

Share the designated Super Admin’s details with your SmartBear account manager for migration. Assign this user as the Super Admin of the QMetry instance and record them as the technical point of contact for future communications.

Sandbox and Production Pre-migration and Post-migration Tasks

Pre-migration tasks

Before you start the migration process, confirm that your Zephyr Enterprise version is 8.5 or later. Fetch the Jira data into Zephyr Enterprise by performing the steps described in the instructions.

Post-migration tasks

  • Integrate Jira on the migrated instance. For more information on installing the Jira Integration Add-on, refer to the QMetry documentation.

  • Integrate the SAML and LDAP on the migrated instance.

Perform Sandbox and Production Validation

  • Validate and confirm that all data migrated correctly in both the sandbox and production environments.

  • Verify that the user and project data migrated successfully.

  • Verify all automation use cases.

  • Verify all reporting use cases.

  • Verify all integration use cases.

Final Sign-off

Sign off on the migration after completing the validation.
