Deleting an Organization

A self-service delete organization feature allows you to delete organizations, perform restorative deletions, and provide a cancellation period to prevent accidental deletions.

Organization deletion is applicable based on the subscription type:

  • Sales Managed Subscriptions — Organizations with current Sales Managed Subscriptions cannot be deleted. Click the Contact Us button to contact API Hub Support to delete organizations

  • Organizations with E-Commerce Subscriptions — SmartBear admins can delete an existing subscription by clicking the Subscription link in the Settings tab. The user is then navigated to the Subscription tab to cancel an existing subscription. Navigate back to the Settings tab to view the Delete button. On deletion, the organization enters a pending deletion state. This triggers the deletion timeline, which ends on either the last day of the subscription canceling period or 30 days from initiation, whichever is sooner.

  • Organizations with Trials or Unpaid Subscriptions — Organizations with unpaid subscriptions or in trials can be deleted immediately. The Restore Organization option will be disabled for trials and unpaid subscriptions.

To delete an organization, do the following:

  1. Log in to SmartBear Admin using SmartBear ID user credentials.

    The Administration landing page appears.

  2. Click the Settings tab to go to the Delete Organization section.

  3. Click Delete to delete an organization.

    The confirmation dialog box appears.

    Note

    The Delete button is enabled based on the subscription type.

  4. Type I Understand once you have read and understood the confirmation terms.

    The pending deletion page appears.

  5. (Optional) Click Restore Organization to restore the organization if you do not want to proceed with the deletion.

  6. In the Restore Organization dialog box, click Yes, Restore to cancel the deletion, reinstate access, and reactivate subscriptions.

  7. Click Cancel to proceed with the Organization deletion.

    Important

    The organization admins receive an email confirming that the deletion has been initiated. All organization members will not have access to the product during the deletion process. A message indicates that the organization is pending deletion and lists the admin email address on SmartBear Admin.
    You can also navigate to the SmartBear Admin page to restore an organization. You will be redirected back to the pending deletion page. Click Restore My Organization to cancel the deletion, regain access, and reactivate subscriptions.

The Organization is deleted, and you are navigated to the next existing organization subscription page. If you do not have any other organization, you are navigated back to the SmartBear Admin page.
