Upgrades, Downgrades, and Grace Period
This section guides you through managing upgrades, downgrades, and grace periods for solutions available on SmartBear Admin. In case of a payment failure, you will have a three-day grace period to correct the billing error. After this period, your subscription will end, and your users may lose access to SmartBear solutions. Refer to the respective solution documentation site for more information.
Upgrades
E-commerce subscriptions can be upgraded at any time. Subscriptions purchased through the SmartBear sales team may not be modified using our self-service UI. Please contact your sales representative if you need assistance modifying an enterprise subscription.
Key Considerations Before Upgrading
Organizations can upgrade to a plan that costs the same or more than their current plan or product group subscription plan. They will receive a pro-rated credit discount on their new plan, and the upgrade takes effect immediately.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled.
How to Upgrade?
Perform the following steps to upgrade:
On your organization's main page, navigate to the Subscriptions tab to see the list of subscriptions your organization subscribes to.
Select the Subscription you want to Upgrade.
Click the ellipsis (three dots) button next to the subscription you want to modify.
Select Pricing Page. For example, API Hub for Design pricing page.
The pricing page appears, where you can view and compare different subscription plans.
Click Switch to change your plan from free to an upgrade. The list of available plans appears to be what you can upgrade to.
Review the features and costs of the available plans. SmartBear provides a detailed comparison to help you make an informed decision. For more info, see Managing Subscriptions.
Downgrades
E-commerce subscriptions can be downgraded using our self-service user interface. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current subscription period and are not immediate. If a trial or regular subscription ends, the organization users are moved to the free subscription plan. If the free plan does not have enough seats, users will no longer have access to their respective solutions.
If a credit or debit card payment fails for any reason, the number of users associated with a subscription may be reduced after the three day payment failure grace period.
Note
Users will be blocked based on the date they were first added to the organization, with the most recent users being blocked first.
If a downgrade happens due to a payment failure, then users' subscription assignments will be automatically restored upon successful payment and reactivation of the subscription. The organization admins will not need to reassign or re-invite the blocked users.
Grace Period
If a credit or debit card payment fails for any reason, your subscription will enter a three-day grace period. This grace period allows you time to correct the payment issue while allowing your end users to work quickly.
