Live (or Manual) Testing

Applies to CrossBrowserTesting SaaS, last modified on January 10, 2023

The Live Testing feature in CrossBrowserTesting allows you to have manual access to CrossBrowserTesting devices.

The overall process of live testing is straightforward:

  1. Enter the URL of the page to be tested.

Note: If the page is behind a firewall or on a local server, enable Local Connection.
  2. Select an operating system.

  3. Select a browser and resolution.

  4. Run the test.

How gestures are simulated

When performing live tests on our mobile devices, the mouse pointer acts as your finger for the purposes of performing gestures on the device’s screen.

It is “pressed to the screen” when you click the left mouse button or touchpad. If you hold the left mouse button or touchpad down while moving the mouse downwards on the device screen, the device interprets this as if you had moved a fingertip down the screen. “Swipe” upwards to move the page down; “swipe” downwards to move the page up again.
