To start working with tests, go to Test Management > Test Library.
Create a test
To create a test, click Add New on the Test Library screen.
On the subsequent Create Test form, describe a new test on the Edit tab. To quickly describe the test using data from recently created test, use auto-fill – select a recent entry in the Auto-fill From Recent drop-down list.

Use other tabs to provide the users who will work on this test with additional information (see below).
Once your test is ready, click Save and Close to apply the changes you have made.
The new test will appear on the Test Library screen.
Edit test steps
On the Steps tab of the Create Test and Edit Test forms, add each step and the result you expect to achieve within the test.
To quickly switch between columns, press Tab. New rows appear automatically as you describe the test steps.
On the Test Selection panel to the right, select existing tests to copy their steps (for example, a login routine) to your new test. With drop-down lists, navigate to any other available test in QAComplete.
Note: | To move the Test Selection between the right and left edges of the screen, use the drop-down list on the top right corner of the form. |
Click buttons in the Actions column to perform various actions:

Click Add Step Below to add a new step.

Click and hold Reorder, then drag and drop the step to change the order of the steps.

Click Delete Step to remove a step from the list.
Select the Critical check box to flag a step as the one that must pass for the test to pass.
Note: | If the critical step fails, the entire test fails. |
To apply the changes and return to the Test Library, click Save and Close.
Call other tests
To append another QAComplete test to the test you edit, click Call Test and select the needed test in the subsequent dialog:
Use Folder and Filter drop-down lists to navigate through available tests.
Tip: | Calling tests works only for tests within the same project. |
Once ready, click OK. A test you have marked for calling will appear in the form as a separate test step.
To apply the changes and return to the Test Library, click Save and Close.
A new test will appear on the Test Library screen.
Record exploratory tests
Starting from QAComplete 11.9, use the new Record Exploratory Tests functionality to create new tests in the Test Library.

Parameterize tests
Starting from QAComplete 12.0, use the Parameters to have the ability to provide varying input to your tests, or run test sets using the same set of values.

Edit a test
To perform operations with a specific test, click the Edit button on the row of the needed test.
On the Edit Test form, apply the changes you need to the test: for example, edit the fields describing the test, modify test steps, attach error logs, make some comments, and so on. See below for more information.

To apply the changes you have made and return back to the Test Library screen, click Save and Close.

To apply the changes you have made and stay in the Edit Test form, click Save.

To revert the changes and return back to the Test Library screen, click Cancel.
Delete a test
To delete a test, click Delete on the Edit form, then confirm this action in the subsequent dialog.

Use the Linked Items panel of the Create or Edit form:

Switch to the Files tab and do one of the following:

Drop the file you need to the panel.

Click Choose File and upload a file from your device.

Click Add / Link Files and upload the attachment in the subsequent dialog.

To view the history of changes
Switch to the History tab of the Edit form, or switch to the Fast Edit History tab to see changes made to the item as part of a bulk.

To review and print an item

On the item list screen, click the Printer Friendly button on the row of the needed item.

Click Printer Friendly at the top of the Edit form.
On the review form, QAComplete generates a QR code. Use it to quickly access this item from another device:
