Exporting and Importing AQTime Settings

AQTime provides many customizable options that let you control various aspects of the profiling process. It also lets you export and import options so that you can:

  • Back up AQTime options,

  • Share AQTime options between computers,

  • Transfer options from an earlier version of AQTime for use in the next major version of AQTime.

You can export and import the following options:

  • Global options (those in the Options > Options dialog): profiler and panel options, look and feel options, symbol server paths, code viewer fonts and colors and so on.

  • Event View display options

Adding export and import commands to AQTime

The commands for exporting and importing commands are not shown in AQTime by default. To make them visible, follow these steps:

  • From AQTime's menu, select View > Toolbars > Customize. This will bring up the Customize dialog.

  • Select the Commands tab.

  • In the Categories list on the left, select the Export category.

  • Drag and drop the Export Settings and Import Settings commands to any menu and toolbar.

  • Close the Customize dialog.

Exporting settings
  • Select the Export Settings command.

  • In the Export Settings dialog, specify the settings that you wish to export by selecting the corresponding check boxes next to them. By default, all the settings are selected.

  • In the Settings file name text box, specify the fully-qualified name of the .acnfg file to save the settings to. You can enter the file name manually, or click the ellipsis button and browse for the needed file.

  • Click the Export button.

Importing settings
  • Select the Import Settings command. This will open the Import Settings dialog.

  • In the dialog, press the Browse button and browse for the .acnfg file that contains the settings.

  • In the tree, which is in the right part of the dialog, specify the settings you wish to import by clicking the check boxes next to them. By default, all the settings are selected.

  • Click Import.
