Manage Test Cases from a Jira Issue
Integrating Jira and Zephyr allows for smooth management and clear visibility of testing activities directly in a Jira issue. Users can effortlessly link related items such as test cases and test cycles and quickly access associated test results without leaving the platform.
Displaying Zephyr Information in Jira Issues
Click the Zephyr logo on the Jira issue to enable Zephyr information to display in Jira Issues.
The Zephyr section appears. The test-related subsections may also appear depending on the linked and related Zephyr items.
You can disable the Zephyr sections on the issue by clicking the ellipsis icon, then Hide Zephyr.
Create a Link and a New Test Case
Click the Create New Test Case (+ icon) in the issue’s Zephyr section, and the Create Test Case screen appears.
Enter your test case information on each of the tabs.
The Jira issue is automatically linked on the Traceability tab of the new test case.
When you have added all the information for the new test case, click Save and the test case along with its status will appear on the Jira issue.
Create a Test Case on Another Project
Zephyr allows you to create test cases for a different project than the one currently viewed in a Jira issue. To do so, click the Dropdown icon in the Zephyr section of the issue, then select Create Test Case on Another Project. You will be prompted to choose a project, and then the Create Test Case form will appear, enabling you to enter your test-case details.
Add and Link an Existing Test Case
You can define an issue’s test coverage by linking existing test cases to it.
Click the dropdown icon in the issue’s Zephyr section, then select Add existing Test Case.
The selection screen appears, allowing you to choose all the existing test cases you want to add to the Jira issue.
After making your selections, click Add, and the test case links, including the statuses, will appear on the Jira issue.
The links are bidirectional, so not only do the test case links show up on the Jira issue, but the link to the Jira issue also appears on the test case’s Traceability tab.
