End of Life Policy

Zephyr DC & Confluence Reporting Plugin Support

This document outlines the end-of-life (EOL) policy for Zephyr apps compatible with Data Center versions of Jira and Confluence (Zephyr and Zephyr Reporting for Confluence).

Our commitment is to provide support and updates for Zephyr apps compatible with supported Jira and Confluence Data Center versions.

Version compatibility on Zephyr apps new releases

New Zephyr apps versions are only compatible with Jira and Confluence versions that have not reached the end of life. Check Atlassian Support End of Life Policy. Once a Jira/Confluence version reaches EOL, new Zephyr and Zephyr Reporting for Confluence releases will not be compatible with it.

The Zephyr team is committed to releasing new versions of Zephyr apps compatible with the largest range of Jira/Confluence versions possible. However, in case a new version of Jira/Confluence includes a breaking change that prevents Zephyr apps from being compatible with previous Jira/Confluence versions, new versions of Zephyr apps may only be compatible with that new version of Jira/Confluence and newer versions.

Possible scenarios:

    • Current Compatibility: The latest version of Zephyr supports Jira versions 8.6 to 9.15.

    • Policy Change: Atlassian designates all Jira versions prior to 9.0 as end-of-life (EOL).

    • Impact: The next version of Zephyr will support only Jira versions 9.0 to 9.15.

    • Current Compatibility: The latest version of Zephyr supports all Jira 9.x versions.

    • New Release: Atlassian releases Jira 10, which includes breaking changes.

    • Impact: The next version of Zephyr will support only Jira 10 and later.

Supported Versions of Zephyr

To receive support from SmartBear for Zephyr apps, the following conditions must be met:

  1. Version Age: The version of Zephyr must be less than two years old.

  2. Jira/Confluence Compatibility: The version must be running on a currently supported (non-EOL) version of Jira/Confluence. You may need to upgrade your Jira/Confluence instance if it is not supported.

  3. Licensing: You must have a valid license for both Jira/Confluence and Zephyr apps.

Updates and Releases

  • Release Policy: New versions of Zephyr are released based on the latest Jira/Confluence versions. Intermediate minor or patch versions are not released.

  • Upgrading: You may need to update to the latest version of Zephyr to access the newest bug fixes, improvements, or features. This might require upgrading your Jira/Confluence instance to ensure compatibility with the latest Zephyr version.

How to Determine End-of-Support Dates

Zephyr apps follow Atlassian’s end-of-life (EOL) policy for Jira and Confluence versions. To find out when support will end for a specific version of Jira or Confluence, refer to Atlassian's EOL policy schedule. Zephyr apps adhere to the same schedule for new releases.
