Alert Recipients

To receive alerts from monitors, you first need to create recipients (or contacts) in AlertSite. Recipients define who will be notified and how – via email, SMS, phone call, or in some other way.

By default, a recipient gets alerts from all monitors. To customize which monitors should notify which recipients, configure recipient groups.

You can view, add, and change recipients on the Alert Recipients (in AlertSite UXM) or Configure Notifiers (in AlertSite 1.0) screen. To access the screen:

Select Alerts > Alert Recipients from the top right.

The recipients are listed in the table with the following columns:

Column Description

Recipient Name

The recipient name or description.

Method

The alerting method selected for the recipient.

Recipient

Where an alert will be sent. The value depends on the alerting method.

Groups

Groups the recipient belongs to.

Availability

Whether or not availability alerts are enabled.

Performance

Whether or not performance alerts are enabled.

Start Notify

The number of consecutive errors that trigger an alert.

Stop Notify

The limit of consecutive alerts sent while an error condition continues.

Notify On Clear

Whether or not the recipient will receive an alert when the monitor status is back to normal.

From the top menu, select Notifiers > Notifiers.

Availability

Whether or not availability alerts are enabled.

Performance

Whether or not performance alerts are enabled.

Notifier

Where an alert will be send. The value depends on the alerting method.

Description

The recipient name or description.

Notification Method

The alerting method selected for the recipient.

Notify After # Error(s)

The number of consecutive errors that trigger an alert.

Stop Notify After # Notification(s)

The limit of consecutive alerts sent while an error condition continues.

Notify When All Clear

Whether or not the recipient will receive an alert when the monitor status is back to normal.

Performance Alert Type

The performance alert type to be sent – Errors Only or Warnings and Errors.

Note: Only Admin, Co-Admin, and Power Users can create recipients.
