Creating Issue Reports for Test Results

Applies to TestExecute 15.40, last modified on March 25, 2022

You can create a bug report for test run results and post this report to one of the following issue-tracking systems:

  • Mozilla Bugzilla v. 3.0.3, 3.4, 3.6, 4.0, 4.2 or 4.4

  • Axosoft OnTime 2009 - 2017

  • Atlassian Jira 5.0 - 7.12

  • SmartBear QAComplete

If you create a bug report for a project suite run, TestExecute will create a report for each project of the suite, rather than a single report for the entire project suite run.
Sending Reports
  1. Right-click the TestExecute icon () in the notification area (tray) and then click one of the following:

    • Create Jira Issue

    • Post Defect to Bugzilla

    • Post Defect to QAComplete

    • Post Defect to OnTime

This command is deprecated and is not available in TestExecute by default. To make it available, enable the appropriate plugin in the Install Script Extensions dialog.

  2. Select the needed log item.

  3. This will call a dialog in which you can specify the connection settings and bug details to be posted to the needed issue-tracking system. For more information about the dialog, see:

  4. Enter the needed issue details and send them to the issue-tracking system.

  5. TestExecute will attach the test log to an item stored in the selected database.

Note: Your issue-tracking system may limit the size of attachments you add to the posted items. If the test log size exceeds that limit, TestExecute does not send the log data.

To learn the allowed size of attachments, contact your issue-tracking system administrator.

Remarks
