About the CreateWorkItem Template

Applies to TestComplete 15.40, last modified on March 25, 2022

By default, TestComplete includes a default issue-tracking template named CreateWorkItem. This template is intended to be employed by users or by TestComplete itself for posting test results (test log) to an issue-tracking system (see Creating Issue Reports for Test Results). This template cannot be deleted.

Before you use the template to post test results to your issue-tracking system, configure it:

  1. Specify parameters to connect to your issue-tracking system.

  2. Specify the project in your issue-tracking system to which you will add issues and the issue type.

The template is available both in global and project-specific variants. You modify the global template via the Template Manager dialog. You configure the project-specific version via the Issue-Tracking Templates page of the project editor.

From TestComplete tests, you can access the project-specific version of the template. Before you use the template in your tests, configure the template:

We do not recommend that you to change the mapping settings of the CreateWorkItem template fields and to change their order. This may cause TestComplete to be unable to post test results into your issue-tracking database.
