Message - Verification failed. Problems With Computers or Firewalls.

Applies to TestComplete 15.62, last modified on March 19, 2024
The Network Suite functionality is deprecated. We don’t recommend using it for distributed testing. Consider using a CI/CD system for managing distributed tests. See Migrating Distributed Tests to CI/CD Systems for details. In case you need to run web tests on multiple environments in parallel, you can also try using your project’s Execution Plan.

TestComplete displays the “Verification failed” error message to inform you that the verification of a network suite, job or task failed.

This can be caused by problems with computers used as slave hosts in your distributed test or by firewalls running on these computers or on your master computer.

Note: For information on other possible problems that can cause verification failure and on how to solve them, see Message - Verification failed.

In order for verification to pass successfully and the test engine to be able to execute a network suite, job or task, a number of possible problems with remote computers and firewalls should be solved:

  • Check if the remote computers, where the slave projects are executed, are running and available.

  • Make sure that Remote Desktop Client version 6.0 or later is installed. Windows Vista and later versions of the operating system already have the required version. The Remote Desktop Connection (Terminal Services Client) component on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP should be updated as described here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925876.
  • Make certain that the Remote Desktop settings on the remote computer allow connecting to this computer via Remote Desktop. For information on these settings, see Distributed Testing - Requirements.

  • If firewall or antivirus software is installed on the computer, make sure that TestComplete and TestComplete 15 Service are allowed through the firewall. For instructions on how to allow TestComplete through the built-in Windows Firewall, see TestComplete and Windows Firewall.

  • If the remote computer is running under Windows Server 2008 and the built-in Windows Firewall is running on the remote computer, make sure that the exception rule for COM+ Network Access is enabled in the firewall list of exceptions.

  • Make sure that ports specified by the TCP ports for remote connections option (by default, ports 6095 - 6097) are open in your firewall.

Also, make sure that both master and slave computers use the same port range.
