This dialog specifies the proxy that LoadComplete uses to connect to the network during the scenario recording and test running.
To call the dialog:
-
Select Tools > Options from LoadComplete main menu. LoadComplete will display the Options dialog.
-
Choose Network > Proxy from the tree on the left of the dialog.
You can change the following options:
-
Mode - Specifies whether LoadComplete uses a proxy server to connect to the network. You can select one of the following values:
-
No Proxy - LoadComplete does not use a proxy server to connect to the network.
-
Use System Proxy - (Default) LoadComplete uses the proxy that is set for your operating system.
You can find that proxy in the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings dialog (to open the dialog, run Internet Explorer and click Tools > Internet options > Connections > LAN settings).
-
Manual Proxy Configuration - Select this option to manually specify a proxy server LoadComplete will use.
Note: The proxy server must support the CONNECT function (most modern proxy servers support this function).
-
For the proxy server that LoadComplete uses to connect to the network, you may need to set the following:
-
Address - The network name or IP address of the proxy server that LoadComplete will use to connect to the tested web server or remote workstations to simulate the recorded traffic. This parameter is available in the Manual Proxy Configuration mode.
-
Port - The port number that LoadComplete will use to connect to the proxy server to simulate the recorded traffic. This parameter is available in the Manual Proxy Configuration mode.
-
Login and Password - The user credentials that LoadComplete will use to connect to the proxy server. Specify these options if the proxy server requires user authentication. LoadComplete can work with proxy servers that use Basic, Negotiate, NTLM 2, Kerberos and Digest authentication types. These parameters are available in the Use System Proxy and Manual Proxy Configuration modes.
Notes
-
To command all LoadComplete remote agents to use the specified proxy to simulate virtual users on remote computers and Amazon cloud computers, enable the Use proxy settings for remote agents option in the Simulating > General > Agents category.
-
LoadComplete does not use the specified proxy server to display the contents of the online version of the Start Page. To display its contents, LoadComplete uses the proxy server whose settings are specified in Internet Explorer.
-
LoadComplete supports transparent proxy authentication. When you record scenarios via a proxy server that requires authentication, LoadComplete uses the specified authentication information to connect to the server. It will not record extra authentication requests.
