When adding certain operations to a test, it is possible to select a target object for the operation from the Test Visualizer images available for your test. To do this, before adding an operation you must first select the Visualizer image that contains this object.
If no image is currently selected in Visualizer, you will get a message informing you about this. You can resolve the problem in the following ways:
-
Close the currently open wizard, then select the Visualizer image with the desired object on it and try to add the operation again.
-
Close the currently open wizard and insert the operation directly from the desired Visualizer frame. To learn how to do this, see the following topics:
-
Select an object on screen rather than in Visualizer. See the following topics for details:
You can also get this message if the currently selected Visualizer image does not contain test object data. To resolve the problem:
-
Right-click your project in the Project Explorer panel and select Edit | Properties from the context menu. This will open the Project Properties Page.
-
In the tree on the left, select Visualizer.
-
Check whether the needed Capture tested objects properties option is enabled (see About Test Visualizer for more information). If the option is disabled, Test Visualizer does not collect any test data for the objects on Visualizer images during test recording or playback.
To be able to select test objects on Visualizer images, enable the appropriate options in the Collect Test Visualizer data during recording and Collect Test Visualizer data during test run groups.
Note: Enabling the Capture tested object properties option may slow down test recording and test playback. -
To apply the changes and collect test object information, record or run the test once again. After that, try to add the operation again.
