Manage Your Data

Users can edit their username, password, and contact details in SmartBear ID. They can also enable or disable multi-factor authentication (MFA).

Users with managed accounts should contact their organization administrator to change their data or manage security options.

Changing Your Name, Phone Number, and Company

To change the Name, Phone, and Company fields, click My Profile in the left-hand navigation panel and then Edit in the top right-hand corner. It brings up editable fields, as shown below:

Changing Your Password

To change your password, use the password reset procedure available after providing your email during the login process.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

SmartBear ID allows you to use your mobile phone with a multi-factor authentication application installed as an MFA device. The MFA app you want to use must comply with the TOTP (time-based one-time password) algorithm.

Users with managed accounts cannot configure multi-factor authentication.

When you enable MFA, you will be prompted for a security code as a second form of authentication before logging in.

To enable multi-factor authentication, click Security in the navigation panel and complete these steps:

  1. In the Multi-Factor Authentication section, click Enable MFA.

  2. Warning

The process cannot be interrupted. If you do not finish setting the MFA after the process is initialized, you will not be able to log in.

To confirm you want to proceed, click Log out and continue in the dialogue window.

  3. Use the MFA app on your phone and scan the displayed code to add SmartBear account.

  4. In the Enter your one-time code field, type the code generated by the MFA app on your phone and click Continue. After the process succeeds, your profile page is displayed.

  5. To verify if MFA is enabled for your profile, navigate to Security and check the status in the Multi-Factor Authentication section.

To disable MFA, click Disable MFA and follow the onscreen instructions.

Changing Your Email

Clicking Email in the navigation panel displays the email address associated with this SmartBear ID account. Your email address can only be changed by contacting SmartBear Support through your product's Support Request form.

Mandatory Email Verification

Starting March 7, 2024, users who have not verified their email address and password must complete the verification process upon their next login to a SmartBear product.

If your email is not verified, upon the next login, you will be asked to enter a code that is sent to the email associated with your account:

This email verification must be performed only once and is not required for managed accounts.

You can also verify your email in My Account. In the Email section, click Verify Your Email. This will send an email with the activation link.

After your email is verified, the current email status changes to Verified:

Deleting Your Account

To delete your account, click the link at the bottom of the My Profile screen:
