Windows-Based Server Performance Counters

Applies to LoadComplete 4.97, last modified on May 20, 2019

LoadComplete can monitor various metrics of Windows-based servers during the load test run (see About Server Monitoring).

LoadComplete gathers counter data via special measurement infrastructure embedded into the Microsoft Windows operating system. LoadComplete accesses it through the Performance Data Helper (PDH) component.

This component is the basis for the Windows Performance Monitor application. Thus, all counters that are available for the Windows Performance Monitor application are also available for LoadComplete.

In addition, some software products (for example, the .NET Framework or ASP.NET Framework) may introduce their own subsets of counters. You can find descriptions of major counters in the following Microsoft resources:

To allow LoadComplete to access the needed counter data on the target server, configure the server as described in Configuring Servers for Monitoring.
