Event Handling Options

Applies to LoadComplete 4.97, last modified on May 20, 2019

The Event Handling options specify how LoadComplete should handle events that will occur during simulation. You can use them to avoid reporting some known issues as errors, because they do not affect the actual web site performance.

To view or change the options:

  1. Select Tools > Options from the LoadComplete main menu. LoadComplete will display the Options dialog.

  2. Choose Simulating > Event Handling from the tree in the left part of the dialog.

You can specify how LoadComplete should treat the following events:

Action on failure
  • Selector failed to extract a value - Specifies the actions that will be taken if a data selector fails to extract data from a server response.

  • A timeout occurred while waiting for a variable - Specifies the actions that will be taken if a correlation timeout occurs while LoadComplete is waiting for the tested server to return the data used by a variable.

  • Replacer failed to insert a value - Specifies the actions that will be taken if a data replacer fails to insert a value into a request.

By default, LoadComplete posts an error message if any of these events occurs.

Action on unexpected events

By default, LoadComplete posts a message to the test log if any of these events occurs.

For the events listed above, you can select how LoadComplete will handle them:

  • Do nothing - The selected events will not be displayed in test results.

  • Post a message - LoadComplete will post a message about the event to the test log.

  • Post a warning - LoadComplete will post a warning about the event to the test log.

  • Post an error - LoadComplete will post an error message about the event to the test log.
