This page is related to key-based licenses — a regular license type used in TestExecute 15.40. For information on the new ID-based license type, see SmartBear ID-based Licenses.
After you installed TestExecute, some antiviral programs (for example, AVG or McAfee AntiVirus) may report that they found a virus in one of TestExecute’s modules. SmartBear always checks its products’ installation packages for viruses, worms, trojans and other malicious code. So, there can be two major causes for the message:
-
The version of the antivirus software you are using is not the latest version. For example, some earlier versions of the AVG Antivirus and McAfee AntiVirus could report TestExecute modules as viruses. The latest versions of this antivirus do not report these issues with these modules. So, to solve the problem, install the latest version of your antivirus software and update the antivirus databases to the following versions:
- AVG version 9.0.790 or later.
- McAfee AntiVirus Plus version 10.5.189.0 or later with database version 6099 or later.
-
The TestExecute installation package could be infected after it was downloaded from the SmartBear web site. Try download the package again.
You can also try resolving the problem by using the Licensing Troubleshooter on our web site:
The troubleshooter will also help you collect information needed to submit a request to the SmartBear Support Team.
