Message - The update will refresh the frame's image, but will delete information about the objects displayed on it.

Applies to TestComplete 15.73, last modified on March 04, 2025

The TestComplete Test Visualizer captures images of your tested application for operations performed during the test recording and playback. For example, the test log includes a side-by-side view of the originally captured screen and the screen captured during the test playback to help you spot changes that occur in the application. When you notice some changes, you may want to update the Visualizer images shown for your test so that they illustrate the most up-to-date application state.

Note that Test Visualizer can be configured so that Visualizer frames contain information about objects displayed in the image (see Project Properties - Visualizer Options). This allows you to add new test operations directly from Visualizer. The test log, however, contains plain images which do not contain such metadata. So, if you update a Visualizer frame from an image in the test log, the resulting frame will not contain any object information, so you will not be able to add test operations from this Visualizer frame. To prevent an accidental data loss, TestComplete informs you about this situation and asks for your confirmation to update the Visualizer frame.

If you use Test Visualizer only to illustrate the test flow and do not use it to add test operations, you can answer Yes to proceed.

If you want to preserve the object information for the Visualizer frame, answer No and update the needed frame by using one of the following approaches instead:
