wItemBounds Property (Specific to Win32ListView Controls)

Applies to TestComplete 15.62, last modified on March 19, 2024

Description

The wItemBounds property lets you get the bounds of the specified list view item or one of its subitems (for the Report view style). The item bounds include the item’s icon, state image (if any) and text label.

To get the icon bounds, use the wIconBounds property. The wTextBounds property returns the item’s text label bounds. If the Report view style is used by the list view, you can also use the wSelectBounds property to determine the item’s selection bounds (it may or may not include the subitems area).

Parameters

The property has the following parameters:

Item

Specifies the desired item. You can enter the item’s index (from 0) or its caption. The caption can contain asterisk (*) or question mark (?) wildcards or regular expressions. The asterisk (*) corresponds to a string of any length (including an empty string), the question mark corresponds to any single character (including none). To specify more complicated parts of a caption, use regular expressions.

The caption can be case-sensitive or case-insensitive depending on the value of the Use case-sensitive parameters project setting.

SubItem

Specifies the caption or zero-based index of the Item’s subitem whose bounds you want to get.

If SubItem is 0, the wItemBounds property returns the Item bounds without subitems. If SubItem is -1, wItemBounds returns the item’s selection bounds, that is, the same value as the wSelectBounds property.

Property Value

A Bounds object that contains the information about the item’s bounding rectangle.

Remarks

If you use Python or DelphiScript, you should enclose the parameters of the wItemBounds property in square brackets: wItemBounds[Item, SubItem].
