Item Property (Specific to ComboBox and List Objects)

This property is not supported in web tests (including cross-platform web tests) that use XPath expressions and CSS selectors to locate web elements. This property can be only used in tests that locate web objects by using internal identification properties provided by TestComplete.

Description

Use the Item property to get the text of a list box or combo box item specified by its index.

The property is applied to the following objects:

View Mode

This property is available in the Object Browser panel and in other panels and dialogs in both Basic and Advanced view modes.

Parameters

The property has the following parameter:

Index

The index of the desired item. Indexes are zero-based, that is, they range from 0 to ItemCount-1.

Property Value

A string holding the item text. If the specified item is not found, an error will occur, and TestComplete will post an error message to the test log.

Remarks

If you use Python or DelphiScript, you should enclose the parameter of the Item property in square brackets: Item[Index].
