TestComplete modules and packages

  • A license for TestComplete Desktop module.

  • The Oracle Forms Control Support plugin. This plugin is installed and enabled automatically.

Core plugins

TestComplete recognizes Oracle Forms/EBS as Java applets.

To test Oracle Forms, TestComplete uses the same plugins it uses for testing Java applications:

  • Java Application Support

  • Open Applications

  • Desktop Testing

These plugins are installed and enabled automatically.

If you experience issues with testing Oracle Forms/EBS, select File > Install Extensions from the TestComplete main menu and check whether these plugins are installed and enabled.

Oracle Forms/EBS controls automation

The TestComplete Desktop module also includes a pre-installed plugin for automated testing of the most popular Oracle Forms/EBS controls. The plugin provides test objects, methods and properties for automating various operations on Oracle Forms controls, getting their content and so on.

Oracle Forms Control Support

The plugin is installed and enabled automatically.

If you experience issues when working with Oracle controls, select File > Install Extensions from the TestComplete main menu and check whether the plugin is installed and enabled.

Supported Oracle versions

  • Oracle Forms 12c

  • Oracle Forms 11g

  • Oracle Forms-based applications included in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) 12.1 and 12.2

You can test applets that run:

  • On a web page,

  • Out-of-browser, by using Java Web Start.

Note:

Support for Java applet and Web Start has been removed from Java version 11.

Preparing Oracle Forms/EBS for testing

TestComplete can test Oracle Forms out-of-the-box. There is no need to re-compile or re-configure your applets before testing.
