Open Source Limitations

Note: SoapUI Open Source is a standalone product and should not be confused with ReadyAPI Test which is part of the ReadyAPI family. ReadyAPI Test provides more features and supports automated functional testing. To learn about its features, see Pro Features.

Plugins developed for ReadyAPI can be installed in SoapUI Open Source, but the framework has limitations and some plugin features will not be available. Plugins designed for SoapUI Open Source will work in ReadyAPI without modification.

There are some important differences between plugins designed to be used in SoapUI Open Source and in ReadyAPI, as the framework in SoapUI Open Source is a reduced set as compared to ReadyAPI.

Toolbar Buttons

The toolbar is not modifiable in SoapUI Open Source, and toolbar buttons cannot be added or modified.

Dependency Injections

ReadyAPI Google Guice dependency injections are not available in SoapUI Open Source.

VCS

The version management support for test projects is not available in SoapUI Open Source. Plugins depending on version management support will not work in SoapUI Open Source.

No ReadyAPI Virtualization Integration

ReadyAPI Virtualization is part of the ReadyAPI family, and it is not available in SoapUI Open Source. Therefore, any functions related to ReadyAPI Virtualization or virtual services will not work in SoapUI Open Source. Features related to SoapUI MockServices will work.
