We recommend that you regularly upgrade TestExecute to the latest version to take advantage of the latest improvements.
By default, TestExecute checks for updates automatically at startup. See How to Check for Available Updates.
The upgrade process differs depending on whether the TestExecute version you are upgrading to is an update for the current version or a newer major version.

To install an update for the current version, you can install the new version over the existing installation. The installation program detects your existing TestExecute installation and updates the necessary files. You customized TestExecute settings and the licensing information is preserved in this case.

To upgrade to a new major version, you need to uninstall the existing installation and then install the new version. For uninstallation instructions, see Uninstalling TestExecute.
