Message - The project suite you are trying to open (or some of its files) is checked in to source control

Applies to TestComplete 15.73, last modified on March 04, 2025

TestComplete displays this message in the following cases:

  • You are trying to open a project suite that was created in an earlier version of TestComplete and it must be converted to the current version's format.

  • This project suite is in source control and is currently checked in (read-only).

TestComplete can either keep or remove source control bindings in the converted project suite. In the former case, the project suite needs to be checked out to complete the conversion. Select the appropriate option to proceed:

  • Check out and convert - Select this option to keep the converted project suite in source control. TestComplete will check out the project suite before converting and opening it.

  • Unbind and convert - Select this option to remove source control bindings from the converted project suite. You can then manage the converted suite locally, or add it to another branch in source control.

Note: Unbinding a project suite from source control does not remove the project suite's files from the source control repository. It just removes the association between the project suite and source control.

To cancel the project suite conversion, click Cancel. In this case, the project suite will not be opened.
