Qt SpinBox Support

Applies to TestComplete 14.30, last modified on November 21, 2019

About Support

TestComplete can recognize Qt SpinBox controls in Qt applications. It provides special properties and methods that let you retrieve the controls data and simulate user actions on the controls (see below).

Supported Versions

Supported component versions: Qt ver. 5.0 - 5.12 by Digia, Qt.

There are also special TestComplete modules that provide support for earlier versions of Qt controls. These modules cannot be used with the modules that provide support for Qt controls 5.0 - 5.12. They are not included into the TestComplete installation package. You can download them from our web site:

http://support.smartbear.com/downloads/testcomplete/qt-modules/

The package to be downloaded contains detailed information on how to install these specific modules in TestComplete.

Requirements

In order for TestComplete to be able to work with Qt SpinBox controls, the following requirements must be met:

  • You must have an active license for the TestComplete Desktop module.

  • The control’s class name must be specified in the Qt Controls | Spin box group of your project’s Object Mapping options. By default, this group contains the following item:

    • QSpinBox

You can also command the test engine to recognize custom controls as Qt SpinBox controls. See below for information about this.

  • Support for the Qt SpinBox controls is implemented by the Qt Controls Support plugin. This plugin is installed and enabled automatically as part of the TestComplete Desktop module.

If you experience issues when working with the controls, select File > Install Extensions from the TestComplete main menu and check whether the plugin is active. (You can find the plugin in the Desktop group.) If the plugin is not available, run the TestComplete installation in the Repair mode.

Recognizing Custom Controls

To command TestComplete to recognize your custom controls as Qt SpinBox controls, open your project’s Object Mapping options and add the control’s class name to the Qt Controls | Spin box group. The class name is specified by the control’s QtClassName property. You can get the property value in the Object Browser panel. You can also choose the needed control from screen. For detailed information, see Object Mapping. Once the control is mapped, it gets all the properties, methods and actions specific to the Qt SpinBox control.

If the specified custom control does not fit the control’s type, then it may not properly respond to commands that TestComplete sends, so recording or playing back user actions over the tested control will cause errors.

Members

When testing Qt SpinBox controls, you can use properties and methods specific to these controls, as well as properties and methods that TestComplete applies to onscreen objects. For the full list of available properties and methods, see the following topics:
