Description
Use the wSelectionStart
property to obtain the index (zero-based) of the first selected character in the edit control. Characters in the text box are enumerated from left to right. To get the number of selected characters, subtract the wSelectionStart
property value from the wSelectionEnd
property value.

An integer value specified the index of the first selected character. If the text is not selected, wSelectionStart
indicates the position of the cursor.
