TestItem Property

Applies to TestComplete 14.10, last modified on June 5, 2019

Description

The TestItem.TestItem property returns a child test item by its index in the parent test item’s child list. To obtain the total number of child items, use the TestItem.ItemCount property.

For more information about test items, see Tests, Test Items, and Test Cases.

Declaration

Project TestItemObj.TestItem(Index)

Read-Only Property A TestItem object
Project TestItemObj An expression, variable or parameter that specifies a reference to a Project TestItem object
Index [in]    Required    Integer

Applies To

The property is applied to the following object:

Parameters

The property has the following parameter:

Index

The index of the desired child test item. The index ranges between 0 and TestItem.ItemCount - 1.

Property Value

A TestItem object that provides scripting access to the specified child test item.

Remarks

If the current test item does not hold a child item with the specified index, an error occurs.

If you use Python or DelphiScript, you should enclose the parameter of the TestItems property in square brackets: TestItems[Index].

Example

The following example iterates through a project’s test items and posts their properties to the test log:

JavaScript

function Test()
{
  // Iterates through test items
  for (let i = 0; i < Project.TestItems.ItemCount; i++)
