ControlIndex Property (MSAA Objects)

Description

The ControlIndex property returns the object’s index within the parent object’s children collection. This index can be used to uniquely identify the given object.

To get the object’s index among sibling objects of the same type, use the ControlIndexInGroup property.

TestObj A variable, parameter or expression that specifies a reference to one of the objects listed in the Applies To section

Applies To

This property is applied to all the objects that are exposed by the MSAA engine.

View Mode

To view this property in the Object Browser panel and in other panels and dialogs, activate the Advanced view mode.

Property Value

A zero-based integer number that specifies the object’s index.

Note: For invisible objects (Visible = false), the ControlIndex property always returns -1.
