Using the Create New Project wizard, you can create a new project for an existing or new project suite. On the Project Name page of the wizard, you can specify the name and location of the project file, as well as the name and location of the project suite that TestComplete creates for your project.
-
Project name - Specifies the name of the project file. TestComplete will automatically add the .mds extension to this name when generating the project.
-
Location - Specifies the project location. If you add the project to an existing project suite, the Location box specifies the full name to the folder that will hold the project file. If you are creating a new project suite for your project, Location specifies the main part of the path to the project file.
The More button opens more settings for editing:
-
Create a new project suite - If a project suite is open in TestComplete, you can either add your project to this project suite, or create a new suite for the project. You use this check box to specify what TestComplete should do. If no project suite is open in TestComplete, this check box is disabled. In this case, TestComplete always creates a new project suite.
-
Create folder for project suite - This setting is available only if the “Create a new project suite” check box is selected. It specifies whether TestComplete will create a folder for the new project suite. The folder name coincides with the project suite’s name.
-
Project suite name - This setting is available only if the “Create a new project suite” check box is selected. It specifies the name of the project suite to which the new project will be added. By default, the project suite name coincides with the project name.
-
Actual project location - Specifies the folder in which the project file will be created.
After you have specified the needed settings on the page, click Next to define the tested applications and some other project settings, or click Finish to create a new project with the specified name. Cancel will close the wizard without saving any changes.
