Message - Unable to start test recording, because no tested applications are defined.

When you are recording a test, TestComplete can record actions performed either over any application running in the system, or only over applications specified in the project’s TestedApps item. This behavior is controlled by the Record user actions over tested applications only option.

You receive this message if this option is enabled, but the TestedApps collection of your current test project does not contain any applications. To resolve the problem, do any of the following:

  • Add the applications that you are going to record tests for to your project’s TestedApps collection. For more information, see Adding Tested Applications.

  • Disable the Record user actions over tested applications only option. Note that in this case, TestComplete will record actions you will perform over any application during the recording session (not only over your tested applications).

After that, start recording your test once again.
