ControlIndexInGroup Property (MSAA Objects)

Description

The ControlIndexInGroup property returns the object’s index among other objects that have the same type and belong to the same parent object. This index can be used to uniquely identify the given object. Also, this index is used to address the object in case the object does not have an accessible name specified (see Addressing Objects in MSAA Open Applications).

Applies To

This property is applied to all the objects that are exposed by the MSAA engine.

View Mode

To view this property in the Object Browser panel and in other panels and dialogs, activate the Advanced view mode.

Property Value

A zero-based integer number that specifies the object’s index among sibling objects of the same type.

Note: For invisible objects (Visible = false), the ControlIndexInGroup property always returns -1.
