Message - Before launching a tested application, select a device

Applies to TestComplete 15.73, last modified on March 04, 2025

TestComplete shows this message when you are trying to run a legacy tested mobile application and no legacy mobile device connected to the workstation is found. Mobile applications, both iOS and Android, you add to the Tested Application collection of your project via the Add Tested Application > iOS application and Add Tested Application > Android application wizards are legacy tested applications now. You can only run them on mobile devices connected to your test workstation locally. To select a device to which you want to connect and on which you want to run a tested application, click Show Mobile Screen on the TestComplete toolbar and then select the target mobile device in the resulting dialog.

If the target device is not available in the dialog, you may need to make sure that your mobile device is configured and connected properly. To learn how to do it, see the appropriate sections:

To run the tested application on a mobile device provided by BitBar, use the Add Tested Application > BitBar application wizard to add the application to the Tested Application collection and then connect to the target BitBar device and open a testing session for your application. To learn how to do this, see Connecting to Mobile Devices and Opening Testing Sessions.
