Message - Unable to find the device in the network ... (Legacy)

Applies to TestComplete 15.73, last modified on March 04, 2025
The information below concerns legacy mobile tests that work with mobile devices connected to the local computer. For new mobile tests, we recommend using the newer cloud-compatible approach.

TestComplete displays this message if it is unable to detect an Android virtual machine by the IP address that you specified in the Mobile Troubleshooter.

There are several possible causes for this –

  • Check whether your virtual machine is on.

  • Check whether your virtual machine emulates a network adapter. For more information, see the virtual machine documentation.

Ask your system administrator for help determine whether the virtual machine is available in your local network.

  • The specified IP address does not correspond to your Android device. Make sure you specified the correct IP address.

For users running a VirtualBox Android virtual machine: for information on how to determine the IP address, see Preparing Android Virtual Machines for Testing (Legacy).

  • You did not call adb connect to connect the Android device to the instance of Android Debug Bridge running on your computer. See Connecting TestComplete to Android Devices (Legacy).

  • Check whether firewalls running on your computer or in your network allow access from your computer to the tested virtual machine.

Ask your system administrator for assistance, if needed.
