License Manager Dialog
Important Notice for ReadyAPI Customers
ReadyAPI has fully transitioned to the ID-based SmartBear License Management (SLM) system. We are now moving into the final phase of the deprecation of file-based licenses. Customers still using file-based licensing must plan for migration to SLM before September 30, 2025.
If you are in the process of migrating or have not started yet, contact your Account Manager or SmartBear representative today. Our teams are ready to assist with smooth transition strategies. For additional support, log a request with our Customer Care Team, who are standing by to help.

The License Manager dialog, lets you view and manage ReadyAPI licenses, including activating, renewing, and deactivating them. It works with SmartBear ID-based and file-based licenses.
To open the dialog, from the main menu, select Help, and then click License Manager. The dialog's appearance depends on your license status:
No license is installed
License is installed
License will expire soon
Active licenses display the 
icon. For each module, you can view:
License status
License type
License key
Expiration date
License Operations
To manage your license:
Switch to the tabbed page of the module you want to work with.
Click one of the following buttons:
Button
Description
Start Pro Trial
Activates a trial license of the selected tool (Test, Performance, or Virtualization). From October 2023, all ReadyAPI trials will be issued as ID-based licenses.
If you have at least one file-based license active, that trial will also be file-based (see Online Activation of a Trial License From ReadyAPI). If you have ID-based licenses only, the new trial will also be ID-based.
Install License
Opens the License Activation wizard that you can use to activate or update a commercial license.
You can install a SmartBear ID-based license or a legacy Floating or Fixed User commercial license.
Uninstall License
Uninstall a SmartBear ID-based license or deactivate a file-based Fixed User license and export license data to a file.
Buy Renewal
Opens the online store and puts the required license in your cart. You can then proceed to the checkout to get the renewal license.
This option is available only when the license is about to expire or has already expired.

Logs in to or logs off of the SmartBear licensing system.
Opens the Preferences dialog.
Note
It’s possible to use both ID-based and file-based licenses (both Fixed User and Floating licenses) for ReadyAPI tools on the same computer.
