License Manager Dialog

In the License Manager dialog, you can view information on your ReadyAPI licenses and work with the licenses (activate, renew, deactivate, and so on). It works with both SmartBear ID-based and file-based licenses.

To open the dialog, select Help > License Manager from the main menu. The dialog looks different depending on the status of the licenses you have:

The dialog lists all the available license types. The active licenses are marked with the icon.

For each product, you can see license details, such as the license status, license type, license key, and expiration date.

License Operations

To manage your license:

  1. Switch to the tabbed page of the product you want to work with.

  2. Click one of the following buttons:

    Button Description

    Start Pro Trial

    Activates a trial license of the selected tool (Test, Performance, or Virtualization). From October 2023, all ReadyAPI trials will be issued as ID-based licenses.
    If you have at least one file-based license active, that trial will also be file-based (see Online Activation of a Trial License From ReadyAPI). If you have ID-based licenses only, the new trial will also be ID-based.

    Install License

    Opens the License Activation wizard that you can use to activate or update a commercial license.
    You can install an SmartBear ID-based license or a legacy Floating or Fixed User commercial license.

    Uninstall License

    Uninstall an SmartBear ID-based license or deactivate a file-based Fixed User license and exports license data to a file.

    Buy Renewal

    Opens the online store and puts the required license to your cart. You can then proceed to the checkout to get the renewal license.
    This option is available only when the license is about to expire or has already expired.

    , Logs in to or logs off of the SmartBear licensing system.
    Opens the Preferences dialog.

Note: It’s possible to use both ID-based and file-based licenses (both Fixed User and Floating licenses) for ReadyAPI tools on the same computer.
