To use ReadyAPI, you need a trial or commercial license for one or more of ReadyAPI tools: Test, Performance, or Virtualization.

ReadyAPI 3.46.1 uses licenses of two types:

  • SmartBear ID-based— These licenses don’t require license keys or files. To run the product, a user needs to specify their SmartBear account.

  • File-based— These licenses involve using a license file from SmartBear. You apply that file on your computer to activate the license, or you consume the license from the license server that is running in your network and that is licensed with this file.
