Activating LoadComplete When Launching it for the First Time

Applies to LoadComplete 4.97, last modified on May 20, 2019

When you launch LoadComplete on your computer for the first time (after the product installation, the installation wizard launches LoadComplete automatically), it displays the Welcome to LoadComplete dialog suggesting that you activate the product.

Before using LoadComplete, you need to activate it. Activation is required even if you have LoadComplete Trial.

In the dialog, you can choose the license type to use.

What Is the Difference Between Trial and Commercial Licenses

  • A Trial license supports all the features available in the commercial version.

  • A Trial license is time-limited. It will expire in 30 days after you activate it.

  • The Trial license supports only 25 concurrent virtual users.

Commercial (Pro) licenses support a greater number of virtual users. The actual number depends on the license you have. So, if you need more virtual users, order a Pro license of LoadComplete.

  • Trial licenses are Node-Locked. They work only on the computers where you activate it.

Commercial licenses can be Floating, that is, they can be used on different machines in your network.

For information on different LoadComplete licenses, see LoadComplete License Types.

Activating a License

  • If you have LoadComplete Trial

    • Click Request trial. LoadComplete will send a request to the SmartBear web server to activate your license.

In certain cases, LoadComplete may ask you to specify your name, email and some other information before sending a request.

    • If the SmartBear server responds successfully, LoadComplete stores the license data on your computer, continues loading, and you see the LoadComplete window.

In case of an error, you will see an error message. See the documentation for possible solutions, or use our Troubleshooter to fix the problem.

If you do not have an Internet connection on your computer, –

    • Select Request trial in the Welcome dialog.

    • LoadComplete will fail to activate the license and will suggest using the manual (offline) activation mode. In this mode, you exchange data with the SmartBear license server manually.

    • Choose this mode and follow the instructions you will see on screen.

For detailed information on manual activation, see Manual Activation Procedure.

  • If you have a commercial license

    • Click Activate a license and follow the instructions you will see on screen.

For detailed information on manual activation, see Manual Activation Procedure.
