Zephyr Squad allows full flexibility to our users when managing both test cycles and folders. The reordering test cycle and folders feature allows our users to sort test cycles and folders by three parameters. The three parameters that can be used to sort are the following but the default option for sorting test cycles and folders is automatically set to sort by the creation date. This can be changed using the "Reorder" option located in the general configuration for Zephyr Squad.

  • Creation date: the test cycles/folders are sorted using the date that the test cycle/folder was created on. When sorting by the creation date, the sorting order used would be in ascending order.

    • With an ascending order, the test cycle/folder that was created first (the oldest test cycle/folder) will be in the first position in the series order.

  • Name: the test cycles/folders are sorted using the name of the test cycle/folder. The sorting by the name, Zephyr will sort by using the ASCII values of the characters in an ascending order.

  • Custom order: when sorting using a custom order, there are two options to sort and two functions that take place:

    • Resetting the API is triggered and the test cycles/folders are then assigned with an order value within the database.

    • Test cycles and folders can be reordered by dragging and dropping them from one position to another.

Important

The ad-hoc test cycle will always be at the bottom of the series of test cycles present in the version.

When using the custom reorder, the cycles cannot be dragged below the ad-hoc test cycle. If any test cycle is attempted to be dragged below the ad-hoc test cycle, the cycle dragged will be shifted to be located right above the ad-hoc test cycle.

The drag and drop feature for test cycles/folders is only enabled when the custom reorder option is selected.

When a sorting option is grayed out in the general configurations, the user cannot switch to another sorting option. The graying out of the sorting options happens when the option is already in progress.
