8.3.0 Release Notes

Introducing Zephyr Enterprise 8.3.0. This version includes new features and improvements that will enhance your experience. Upgrade to Zephyr Enterprise 8.3.0 to take full advantage of these benefits.

Important Announcements  

Starting from Release 8.3, modern UI enhancements have been introduced to improve user experience and a new intuitive interface. Note that the functionality remains unchanged.

New Features

The following updates bring significant enhancements, security improvements, and fixes:

Parametrization and Data Set

The data parameterization feature is currently an Alpha release introduced in 8.2. This feature helps users understand the introduction to parametrization and the following operations:

The data parameterization feature helps users understand the introduction to parametrization and the following operation:   During execution, users will see each test data column as an iteration.  The iterations section allows you to run the same test case multiple times with different defined data sets, environments, or configurations. Additionally, the status here displays the progress and current state of test execution across various scenarios.

Tomcat Upgrade

In the current release, Tomcat is upgraded to 10.1.31. Starting the Zephyr Enterprise 8.2 release, issues related to the Jira webhook are resolved. The enhancements include,

Java Restriction Removal

Zephyr has upgraded to Java 17.0.x and will henceforth exclusively support this version.

ZEPHYR-35000

The Test Case Execution Progress chart in the Reports module has been enhanced to present cycles in chronological order. This update aligns the sequence of cycles with the Test Planning phase, effectively resolving the previous issue where cycles were displayed alphabetically.

Upgrade Tomcat to the latest 10.1.31 version.

In the latest release, the issue of Logging in to a different project while the user is logged out of the previously used project has been resolved.

The version color now correctly appears on the full page, regardless of whether the test case is the latest or not.

Zephyr now supports upgrades to the Tomcat 10.x version.

ZEPHYR-39821

Fixed an issue where a defect was linked to an incorrect execution instead of the correct one when clicking the "D" button. The defect is now mapped to the proper execution using a unique identifier.

ZEPHYR-39882

The issue is resolved. Defects linked through the Advanced Search are now correctly associated with the intended execution and are visible in both the Advanced Search view and the Execution Details page.

Added the sorting by date on the Test Execution progress and Test Execution by Cycle Gadget.

Resolved an issue where the Cycle Phase was locked, which prevented the execution from completing.

Fixed the Rich Text Editor tag issue.

Resolved an issue causing a critical error when loading requirements from the requirements repository.

Implemented security enhancements to address vulnerabilities related to the HTTP OPTIONS method being enabled.

ZEPHYR-39431

Updated all instances in the UI where "In-active User" is displayed to show "Disable User" now.

ZEPHYR-39816

Resolved the issue where the "Project Setup" and "Defect Admin" options were not visible. As expected, these options are now accessible through scrolling.

ZEPHYR-40231

Resolved an issue where the "Collapse" option was not functioning in the tree view.
