Connecting to Your Issue-Tracking Database

Applies to TestExecute 15.40, last modified on May 21, 2024

You use the Connection Wizard to view and modify connection properties of an issue-tracking database. This connection is used by issue-tracking templates to post items to the issue-tracking database from TestExecute.

To call the wizard, click Add or Edit in the Connection Manager dialog.

Note: Connection settings are stored on the computer where the connection has been created. If you open your TestComplete project on another computer, you may have to create new connections in order to make the issue-tracking templates valid.

The connection settings are also specific to the user account. If another user launches TestExecute on your computer with a different account, the connections that were created will not be available.

The Connection Wizard includes the following pages:

Connection Wizard - First Page

On this page you can enter the connection name and specify the type of the desired issue-tracking database.

Connection Wizard - Team System Connection Settings

On this page you can specify parameters for connecting to your Team System database.

Connection Wizard - Bugzilla Connection Settings

On this page you can specify parameters for connecting to your Bugzilla database.

Connection Wizard - Final Page

On this page TestExecute displays the connection test's results.
