TestComplete Requirements

• To attach and run TestComplete tests, install the HP Quality Center Connectivity Add-In for HP Quality Center.

  • To install the add-in, in HP Quality Center Site Administration, select Help | ALM Tools and then click HP ALM Connectivity.

  • On the next page, click the Download HP ALM Connectivity link to start downloading the add-in file (TCConnect.exe).

  • Run the downloaded file to install the add-in.

• To configure HP Quality Center settings and run tests, you need specific permissions. These permissions are granted to user accounts that belong to one of the following user groups in HP Quality Center:

  • TDAdmin. Permissions provided by this group are needed for editing Quality Center scripts.

  • QATester. Permissions provided by this group are needed to put TestComplete test projects to Quality Center.

  To add a user account to a group, select Tools | Customize from the Quality Center’s main menu and switch to the Project Users | Groups and Permissions page in the subsequent dialog.

• When you export TestComplete projects, TestComplete Connector packs the entire project suite into an archive and passes it to HP ALM Quality Center. The archive includes only those files and folders that reside in the project suite folder. TestComplete Connector does not export any other files (for example, shared project items located outside the project suite folder). The references to such files become invalid in the exported projects.

  Make sure that all the files your projects use are in the project suite folder or in its subfolders, and that the references to those files are valid.

• To export your test to Quality Center, use 32-bit TestComplete.

• Note for Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 users: Currently, TestComplete needs specific preparations to be able to work via COM on Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012. Since HP Quality Center Connector works with TestComplete (TestExecute) via COM, you may need to change the privileges of your application or TestComplete in order to be able to run tests.
