Excel.Open Method

Note: To work with Excel files in your tests, you do not need to have Microsoft Office Excel installed on your computer.

Description

The Excel.Open method opens an existing Excel file.

Declaration

Excel.Open(FileName)

Result An ExcelFile object

Parameters

The method has the following parameter:

FileName

Specifies the fully qualified path (including the name) to the file to be opened.

Note: If the specified file does not exist, the method fails and posts an error message to the test log.

Result Value

An ExcelFile object that corresponds to the specified file. To perform operations over the opened file, use the methods and properties of the returned object.
