Test Visualizer does not capture the mouse cursor along with images.
-
Test Visualizer stores images in PNG format. The format cannot be changed.
-
TestComplete compares the recorded and playback Visualizer images in the test log pixel by pixel. There are several factors that affect image comparison: the color depth of the compared images, the operating system’s UI theme, DPI settings, and so on. For complete information on the comparison algorithm and factors, see How Image Comparison Works and Factors Affecting Image Comparison.
-
Test Visualizer can capture images of top-level windows that contain objects, with which you interact, or the entire desktop. Use the same type of captured images - desktop or top-level parent - for test recording and test runs. Otherwise, the playback images will always differ from the recorded images.
-
TestComplete logs information about simulated actions as event messages. Test Visualizer captures images during the test run only for those event messages that exist in the test log.
To reduce the size of the test log, you can configure TestComplete to store only a certain number of last event messages before an error message is posted to the log. Messages for other events will be discarded. Use the Store last … events property of your TestComplete project to control the number of event messages to be saved to the log.
To store some images to the log regardless of this property value, see Posting Images to the Log.
-
You can save a captured image or part of it to a file, and then use it to create a region checkpoint. For information on how to save an image to a file, see Working With Visualizer Frames.
-
You can delete all Visualizer images from your test project. To do this, open the project properties, select the Visualizer category and click Delete all Visualizer frames.
