On the Issue-Tracking Templates page of the project editor you can view, create, modify and delete issue-tracking templates used in your project. To display this page:

Double-click your project in the Project Explorer panel. TestComplete will show the project editor in the Workspace panel.

Click Issue-Tracking Templates at the bottom of the editor to activate the Issue-Tracking Templates page.

Right-click your project in the Project Explorer panel and then click Edit > Issue-Tracking Templates.
The page holds a list of available templates. You can adjust the list using customization capabilities provided by TestComplete.
Information about each template is shown in the following columns:
Column | Description |
---|---|
Status | Indicates whether the connection settings of a template is valid or not. If these settings are invalid, TestComplete will not be able to create or edit items in the issue-tracking system, with which the template operates. |
Name | Specifies the template name. This string is used as the name of IssueTracking object’s method that TestComplete generates for the template. |
System | Specifies whether the template is a system or user template. For more information on template types, see About Issue-Tracking Templates. |
Project | Specifies the project, to which TestComplete will add an item, or the project holding the item which TestComplete will modify. |
Item Type | Specifies the item type. |
Connection | Specifies the connection used to connect to the issue-tracking database. |
Besides this information, TestComplete also shows template description for each template.
To create a new template
- Right-click somewhere within the Issue-Tracking Templates page and choose New Item from the context menu.
- Use the ensuing Template Editor dialog to specify template properties.
To use a global template in your test project, you need to create and configure this template before opening the project in TestComplete. |
To modify an existing template
- Right-click the desired template in the Issue-Tracking Templates page and choose Edit from the context menu.
- Use the ensuing Template Editor dialog to change template properties.
To remove a template
- Right-click the desired template in the Issue-Tracking Templates page and choose Delete from the context menu.
Note that system templates cannot be deleted.
