Features Added to TestComplete 6.40

Applies to TestComplete 14.10, last modified on June 5, 2019

This topic describes the changes made to TestComplete 6.40. For information on the changes made to other versions of the product, see Version History.

  • Firefox 3 support. You can now perform functional testing of Web pages displayed in the latest version of the Mozilla Firefox browser.

  • Load Testing improvements:

    • TestComplete can now directly record HTTPS traffic. In earlier versions, to record HTTPS traffic, you had to switch your HTTPS web server to HTTP before recording, and then modify the recorded connections to simulate them in a secure mode. Now this is not needed.

Direct recording of HTTPS traffic is supported for Internet Explorer and other applications that use the WinINet or WinHTTP technology.

    • The Load Testing project item editor includes a new Update recorded values of hidden controls option. This option enables automatic handling of ASP.NET ViewState and other hidden controls on the tested Web server’s pages during the test run.

    • It is now possible to record and simulate traffic with chunked transfer encoding.

    • Also, there is now no need to specify TestComplete as a proxy server for your Internet browser or client application in order to be able to record traffic.

  • A number of bugs have been fixed.
