Upgrading From Previous Versions

If you have a maintenance subscription, you can upgrade your previous version of TestComplete to new version 14 for free. When a new TestComplete version is available, a license for it is added to your SmartBear account automatically. You can find the license (and a link to the installation package) on the TestComplete product page of the My SmartBear section of our web site.

Otherwise, you can upgrade to new version 14 by paying part of the full price. For information on upgrade offers, please contact SmartBear Sales Team.

After you get a license for the new TestComplete version, you can activate it on any computer.

Note: If you have a Node-Locked license on your computer, then, when you launch TestComplete 11 after installation, it will connect to the SmartBear website to automatically update your license to the new version. If the update is available (this is possible, for instance, if you have an active maintenance subscription), TestComplete will show a message suggesting that you activate the new license key.  

If TestComplete fails to update the license (this can happen, for example, if TestComplete cannot access the SmartBear website or if no updates are available for your license), you will have to get and activate the new license key manually.
