Description

The Utilities.ExtractFileExt method returns the extension of the given file name.

Parameters

The method has the following parameter:

FileName

Specifies the file name from which the extension should be extracted.

Result Value

A string that holds the extension extracted from the specified file name. The period character that separates the name and extension parts is also included in the resulting string. If the given file name has no extension, the resulting string is empty.

Remarks

This method is obsolete. It is supported for backward compatibility only. To extract the extension from a file name, use the aqFileSystem.GetFileExtension method.
